Jen Horwitz, left, talks to Janet Kilby. Janet Kilby is one of a half dozen folks in the Kendall neighborhood of Table Mesa in Boulder who has collected pledges from homeowners to go pollinator friendly and not use any systemic pesticides such as neonicitinoids.
Do you want your neighborhood and local businesses to be safe places for pollinators – and people? Are you a dedicated, passionate individual?
One of our main goals is to empower others to be part of creating a Pollinator Safe movement around Colorado. To be part of a Pollinator Safe community, it’s as easy as talking to your neighbors and your local businesses and asking them to sign the pledge!
Pollinator Safe Leaders are our muscle in the field: they reach out to their neighbors or community members, organize canvassing efforts, and collect pollinator safe pledges. You don’t have to know all the answers, or know every person who lives in your neighborhood or community. You don’t have to do all the work yourself. Being a Pollinator Safe Leader requires little more than dedication, drive, and a passion to make the movement move. All we ask of you is that you talk to your neighbors and local businesses and ask them to take the Pledge – to protect both pollinators and people. If you are interested in becoming a Pollinator Safe Leader, please fill out the form (link above) and we will contact you with more information!
