Great advice from Xerces: One of the most valuable things you can do to support pollinators and other invertebrates is to provide them with the winter cover they need. Allowing native perennials, shrubs and grasses to remain throughout the winter can provide overwintering sites and food for wildlife like native solitary bees and birds.
