Wash Park Pollinator Habitat - Volunteers Wanted!

We hope you are having a wonderful, pollinator-filled summer! We are excited to present a new volunteer opportunity in Denver if you like spending time outside and helping to create and maintain essential pollinator habitat!

Michelle, Washington Park's Horticulturist

Denver Parks and Rec has two new awesome horticulturists, Michelle Simpson and Skyler Smith, working to create year-round pollinator habitat at Denver's Wash Park and they are looking for passionate community members to volunteer! We would love to support their efforts as well as get this opportunity on your radar!

Volunteer spots are open every Wednesday 7:30am-11:00am and every Thursday 7:00am - 12:00pm (noon). You are still welcome to join even if you cannot stay the whole time. Learn more » If you are interested in volunteering, please submit THIS FORM to RSVP and COMPLETE THIS WAIVER. Denver Parks & Rec volunteer waiver forms will be available on-site if you have not already filled one out.

There will be tools on hand, but feel free to bring your favorites if you would like. Please wear closed-toed shoes and bring your completed waiver, garden gloves, sun protection, water, and snacks as needed.

Key to the success for our city's pollinator gardens is to avoid the use of chemicals since some of the insects bury into the ground as part of their life cycle. Michelle is working on eliminating the use of insecticides in the garden and ongoing help with weeding really helps support her effort! Learn more & volunteer »
